Glycolic Acid

Glycolic Acid is considered a member of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid family and is derived from the sugar cane plant. It is has been clinically proven to penetrate the cell walls due to its tiny molecular size. Once inside the cell it is able to stimulate collagen and elastin which improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Glycolic Acid is able to break down the glue-like substance that holds the layers of dead skin cells together. After these cells dissolve the skin texture looks smoother and the skin feels softer. In addition Glycolic Acid is quite effective in the treatment of blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and hyper-pigmentation as well.
