Lightening Agents

Lightening Agents
Lightening agents or bleaching creams are used to lighten hyper-pigmentation, sun spots, and age spots. Over-the- counter lightening agents may contain hydroquinone, Kojic Acid, Emblica and many others. Hydroquinone although quite effective has been found to be dangerous and may lead to the development of cancer. It has been banned in countries like the U.K. and France. Kojic Acid is similar to hydroquinone in that it suppresses melanin production however it can be unstable in skincare formulations. It easily oxidizes when exposed to air and also reacts with other chemicals if exposed to sunlight. Emblica not only eliminates signs of age spots, sun spots, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles but also inhibits the breakdown of collagen. After much research we like Emblica best out of the lightening agents and recommend Benev’s Emlite Crème.
